45 DAYS!!!

thailand-phi-phi-beachThat’s all that stands between me and US$1 massages on a Thailand beach, the waves crashing, hot hot sun and a chilled, fruity cocktail in my hand. My God. As my boss would say… palatial. To be honest I don’t think that’s even a word, but the way he says it just oozes magnificance, relaxation and luxury. What do ya know? It is a word

I know that not all of Thailand is palatial, but I’m thinking of the positives, although still ready for the negatives.

I’m back on the salad diet. It’s going well, except that while typing this at 10.50am my tummy is grumbling. Too early for lunch and there’s nothing here at work to snack on, maybe another cup of coffee? Nah I’ll be good and just drink another litre of water. I’m off for a run tonight, I have to. I have become so slack on the running. So tonight I am making time. I mean seriously I have nothing else I need or even want to do between 5 and 6pm. No assignments, no good TV, no excuses! So my new exercise time slot Monday – Thursday is 5-6pm. Friday is day off, and Saturday and Sunday are morning runs. Only 45 days to tighten up this body, crap, it’s crunch time!

So a question to you all… what are you doing this Christmas/New Years period?

I peed behind enough trees to last me a lifetime.

I survived camping! In tents, on thin, seriously thin “foam” pads, no flushing toilets, no showers and a couple of rain showers.

I know I paint such a picturesque picture for you. Honestly it was an amazingly fun weekend. But I have come to a realisation that maybe I’m a little more high maintenance than I thought… I didn’t complain during the weekend!! But camping in tents is not in my top five holiday getaways, in a bach or cabin? All good! I like my flushing toilets and hot showers.

Of course the fun parts to the trip included many water sports like sea biscuiting and wakeboarding, eating and drinking non-stop all day (well not so much drinking all day, but for a good chunk of the day), good tunes, good friends, and a good dose of hot, sunshine. Fabulous!

Lets follow up with a few photos, including one of everyone – woohoo! Be warned friends, I know a good number of you read my blog now, so now I’m going to *feature* you all!

Uni holidays already?

It sure is. It’s heaven. Two weeks of heaven. I was feeling the need of a break in that last week. It was INTENSE. It has now been two weeks since I uploaded my post-it wall-of-doom photo. We are four down. YUS.

It kind of spooks me that those six remaining post-its (and three exams) are all I have left of my university career (shush, it so is a career – it’s a full time job!) but it also excites me.

These holidays are going to be jam-packed with fun, relaxation and partying! Oh, and a teeny, tiny bit of assignments and study. The next two weekends are already booked in; weekend one (28-30 Aug) is a girls trip of four three to the snow, and weekend two (4-6 Sept) is a co-ed road trip of seven to Dargaville for Bach Weekend: Round 2. I am seriously in the mood for both!

Tonight it’s my sister, Allie’s, birthday drinks. So we’re all getting the dresses and heels on and hitting the town for a night of dancing!

Camping is fun… for a few nights

Happy 2009!! I hope your New Years was a blast like mine. Our first night of camping it rained. Of course – typical! But after that it was hot, hot sunshine everyday. Our days were filled with swimming at Omaha beach and the quarry (the fresh water was amazing), getting ourselves tanned, general relaxation of course. Obviously my camera was present through most excursions.

The actual New Years event, Matakana Highlife, was awesome! We all had a great time dancing, singing and glowing in the dark with our neon glow sticks.

I had some New Years action, and have been texting him since the event (he lives 15 minutes from my house). So we’ll see if anything progresses there, he may have potential.

All my bags are packed…

I’m off to frolic on my friend’s farm in Warkworth for a week with these lovely people and another 30 or so.

This photo was taken last time we popped up to the farm.

I can not wait; camping, drinking, friends, a paddling pool!!, fishing, quad biking, trips to the beach, camp fires, BBQing and of course New Years Eve at Matakana Highlife. Oh bring it on!

I hope everyone has a brilliant and safe New Years and I shall see you in 2009!
