It’s official.

So I didn’t think it was possible – but the man blew me away again! He booked a restaurant for our date this week at a French place called Pastis. He remembered a conversation we’d had about food (we both love the stuff!) and that I’d mentioned I wanted to try escargots. I got to. Oh my God they are good!  If you’re ever given the opportunity I insist you try them. They will definitely not be my last plate of escargots!

So we shared an entree of escargots and the terrine. Amazing. Then for our main we had the ox rib. Once again – amazing! We finished off by sharing a creme brulee – one of my all time favourite desserts. Of course each course was matched by a delicious wine.

The booking of the restaurant, the choice of amazing food, the delicious wine to match, nor the fact he remembered I wanted to try escargots was the thing that blew me away. It was that he ordered and conversed with the waiter the entire time in French! I had no idea. So sexy.

As we were walking back to his place afterwards my feet were starting to hurt in my beautiful new black leather heels (why must they do that?!). He put his arm around me and said “while those heels look gorgeous, I would think nothing of it if you took them off. I’ll even carry them for you.” And he did. Swoon. I’m so sold.

Oh the title… yes, the man and I made it official a little while ago (didn’t want to jinx it). I have a boyfriend. I know! ALERT THE MEDIA.

just one month.

Tomorrow marks one month since I met my British beau. I’m completely baffled at how it can only be a month?! I feel I have known him so much longer. Well technically we used to tweet each other randomly over the past couple of years. But never full on conversations or anything in person. We never had a conversation in person until a month ago. So the fact so much has happened in this last month amazes me.

I was driving and thinking in my head what we have done; lunch dates, gone out for drinks, dinner dates, enjoyed a 24 movie marathon, he’s cooked me dinner and breakfast, we’ve cooked a meal for a friend’s Thanksgiving dinner, popped into a tweet up, attended a BBQ, driven up north, gone for beach walks, ordered room service, enjoyed his deck, drunk lots of wine and somehow managed to squeeze in lazy hours in bed.

I’ve never had a dating/relationship start like this. You normally start with all the bullshit of seeing each other once a week and never really knowing where you stand. We never went through any of that, thankfully.

We’ve only been ‘exclusive’ as of the 18th (or possibly 19th, wee hours of Saturday maybe?) of this month, and known each other a month. To me it feels as if it’s at least been four months, and I mean that in an entirely positive way.

That is, until he reads this post and thinks to himself, “my god I’ve gone and got myself a crazy!” Ha! No, I know he wont think that. I haven’t shared any of my crazy thoughts on here. They’re all safely locked in my head. Kidding. Maybe.

He’s a fan of Haiku

After reading my past Haiku the new man hinted at having his own one. One really isn’t enough though, so here we go…

We met first for lunch
Your British accent was smooth
Then again that night

Met my mum and friends
Things have progressed quite quickly
Some of my best dates

Nights of fun by three
Like pizza pineapple free
Want to swing with you

Others would think that
Writing Haiku for you seems
Too serious, no

I do enjoy the cryptic level you can include in Haiku.
